Q Gender Discussion Question - Discussion Group 4 From PSYC-22-52804 Hi all! Please reply to the 2 questions below in at least 250 words, and then reply to at least 2 students (replies should be at least 75 words each). 1. First, think of the most stereotypical "masculine" bed you can (e.g., one in the shape of a race car or football). If your daughter wanted that stereotypical “masculine” bed, would you be comfortable with her having it? Why or why not? Would the age of the child make a difference? 2. What if your son wanted the most stereotypical “feminine” bed you can imagine (e.g., a princess bed with a pink canopy)? Would you be comfortable with him having it? Why or why not? Would the age of the child make a difference? When answering the question, do not worry about money. We will assume you will be getting free beds for your children, so cost will not be an issue. Important Note All students are required to post their own responses prior to reading the responses of others in the class for all discussions. A 0 will be given for any blank or partial submissions that enable a student to read other answers prior to posting their own response. Grading Rubric Please see the grading rubric for guidance on what is expected for full credit. Select the Options icon (3 vertical dots in the upper corner), then select "Show Rubric." If my daughter would come to me and really want a "masculine" bed, I would sit down and talk to her and let her explain to me why she wants this bed and in reality, I wouldn't see anything wrong with getting her a car bed because we as woman drive cars, right? Material stuff to me does not play a factor in our children's sexuality. But of course, I would take her age into consideration what she is asking for because most children want things they see on tv or those other children have because it's cool.
